Also, what are the sure signs of one being hostile? I know for sure they bring attacks as had a very close friend since childhood, whom I have completely distance. Actually, I was so caught up in the old relationship that I did not know what to do, prayed intensely to Maa as so much trouble and disharmony she would bringing and so Maa arranged the circumstances such that I got a chance to fall apart. But what do when you are in a physical proximity close relationship?
The signs of a person who has turned hostile towards the Divine are anger towards the Divine and those who manifest something or the other of divinity. This anger may manifest in different ways, such as turning away, deliberate disrespect, throwing doubts, criticisms, casting aspersions, or actually wilfully damaging the Divine Work. These people are often full of arrogance, self-will, vanity and pride who think too much about themselves and their ability. Given to egoistic satisfactions of life, they believe life is meant for pleasure and selfish gains and enjoyment. They may be religious and believe in God, but only to fulfil their desires. Humility and surrender before the Divine are not in their handbook. They may be generous as king Mahabali, Ravan and Karna were but there is a lot of ostentatiousness in their giving, a sense of pride. They are good as long as people listen and agree with them. But the moment they are contradicted, they get angry and even violent. Of course, there are different degrees of hostility and some actually end up being possessed by the asuric beings or become a hub of dark influences.
No, they are not placed in our lives for us to change them. That is a delusional idea one should never carry. They are there to test our sincerity and nothing else. It is best not to have any truck with these beings, even if they are close by circumstances of birth or past association, as their contagion is subtle and their influence worse than diseases. Even exchange of letters or phone conversations and messaging can open doors to their negative energies. One should turn indifferent towards them and leave them to their ways and to the Divine, who alone can change them if they open up and are willing to change. But generally, it is only when they touch rock bottom that they may be ready for the change. Whatever it be it is between the Divine and them. In any case, one should never give any unasked advice to anyone, let alone these people. It is only if one has a clear mandate from the Divine that one should or can help. Otherwise, in trying to pull them out of the whirlpool, one ends up sinking and drowning oneself.
Therefore, the focus should always be on one’s own personal growth first, gaining true knowledge, finding the soul and the Divine Presence within. All the rest is later and only if the Divine so commands and not due to personal attachments, etc.
Affectionately,
Alok Da
