AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

How does one let go of things from the past😫? Things that didn’t work out the way we would have ā€œhopedā€, people we didn’t get to know well that maybe we wanted to, or regrets about actions that we would have taken differently today? And how does one stop daydreams or indulging in fantasies that do not have any basis? I’m stuck on an idea of someone from the past and cannot get them out of my head. I offer my feelings up to the Mother and just let it be… is that the right approach?

This question is inspired by a ā€œlongā€ story with a lot of different thoughts that I’m not sure would be the best use of this space.. but in short…

First thing that we need to understand is that the ‘mistakes’ that happened and yet may happen are not because there is something bad in us. They happen because we lead life ignorantly blindly, almost unconsciously. Our education system teaches us about almost everything that happens outside us but nothing about what is going on inside us. We learn all about handling gadgets but very little about handling ourselves. What we call as mistakes are therefore part of a giant learning curve of which all of us are a part in different degrees and stages. It is always good to remember this so that we can keep growing and progressing. And it is here that we get the key to let go of the past. In a way it does not leave us and repeats itself with slightly changed settings until we have learnt the lessons it came to teach us.

The best way therefore is to take a hard look at ourselves, learn what we need to learn and then move forward. For it is only by moving towards the future that we can truly get rid of the past. So here again we need to be clear about our goals and then take the steps needed to move towards our own unique goal and the journey through which destiny is leading us.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

It is the struggle that most people of the new generation feel. The simplest way to deal with these things is to stay focused on your goal and not try to change people, however significant or close they may be in your life. To try changing others or to expect them to….

Namastey Alok Da, I was reading some predictions related to Pakistan and China by Mother and Sri Aurobindo on the website, Was the Mother referring to a future event that is yet to manifest, or was this vision specific to that time period and did not occur due to divine intervention or a change in the working of forces? Is there any future possibility where China might invade India?šŸŖ·šŸ˜šŸŒšŸ®

She was referring to a possibility, a possibility that was strong at that moment as well remains a risk for the future. Sri Aurobindo also said that they are very restless and saw the threat of Red China invading India through Tibet. As long as the Communist party …

I have been living away from home for almost 9 years for my studies, and currently study in a foreign country. I usually don’t get much lonely and even if I, I get comfortable on remembering the Mother. But for sometime, I am getting too emotional on festivals such as today, which usually results in a fever and impacts my work. How should I deal with it?šŸ”šŸ“šŸ„ŗšŸ§øā˜•

It is most likely the result of home-sickness arising out of loneliness. Certain circumstances and situations are typically associated in the mind with home or the place where one grew up. They remind us of the fact of being …
