AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

The Children born to those who believe in the Yoga of Sri Maa and Sri Aurobindo and practice this Yoga are considered to be fortunate. I have heard that Children born after 1956 are born with a New Consciousness. πŸ™„πŸ™πŸΌπŸŒ·πŸƒ[…]

The Child of this Seeker I am talking about was born after 1956, and why is it that the Children of such a Seeker not only do not have Faith in Sri Maa and Sri Aurobindo, but also harbor aversion towards Sri Maa and Sri Aurobindo?Β  Β

There is no such absolute rule. It is a general statement that the Mother made that the children born after 1960 are different. In Her conversation She didn’t mention the children of devotees. The phrase ‘especially to devotees’ is in Udar da’s recount. Besides, the word devotee is very loosely used. Most ‘devotees’ have a religious belief and a transactional relation with the Mother. That is not devotion. A devotee is someone who gives oneself to the Divine out of joy and love. We also have our judgmental ideas about today’s children, believing they are not on the right track. Instead, we should look sincerely to see if we have the right understanding. Finally, devotee or not, each child brings his own destiny and needs to go through certain experiences his soul has chosen. It is part of his evolutionary journey and the Divine does not interfere with it unless each one consciously makes the surrender to the Divine. Circumstances of birth indicate only a possibility. To turn it into an actuality depends upon the interaction between the individual’s ‘free will’ and his destiny.Β

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Dream of my grandmother who passed away 10 months ago. Today (13th April is her birthday and she would have celebrated her 90th anniversary). Weirdly, she appears in my dreams almost every day even though I don’t consciously think about her. When she was alive she was extremely attached to me. Today’s dream (on her birthday):We were at her house in the village. My dad and everyone else were there. Suddenly, she went out of the house for a walk and disappeared. Nobody could find her for many hours. We thought it’s the end. Late in the evening, I decided to do an experiment: i went outside and shouted her name from the top of my voice. And from somewhere far away I could hear her response. What does this mean?πŸ’πŸŒœπŸ’€

The dream indicates that some part of her, possibly the Vital attachment with the family is yet transiting. She has come in contact with your being. You pray and bid her good bye so that this part dissolves.

Yes, your observation is quite true. It is partly because of the strong individualistic tendencies in Europe whereas a strong tendency to hold to the societal norms and standards in Asia. In India the difficulty is even greater ….
