Relying on the Divine for everything does not mean that I will not put in any effort for anything since the Divine will give me everything. This is partially true provided we add that ‘the Divine will give me everything that I need’ and not necessarily everything that I want or desire for. It also does not mean that the Divine is bound to give me whatever I work for and ask for as a rightful result of my efforts. He may do that but we cannot compel Him for that nor make it the condition for relying upon Him.
Relying upon the Divine means that ‘I have placed my trust entirely in Him. I will do my bit as best as I can in the spirit of His service without thinking or worrying about the fruits. He knows best my inner and outer needs and will do what needs to be done and will provide whatever outer things and inner experiences that are needed for my progress.’
Relying upon the Divine implies complete trust which is shown by an acceptance of people, events, situations and circumstances in our life without grudge and grumble, without complaining or revolt. It is to be filled with gratitude and peace that automatically comes by knowing or having faith that the Divine is with us and knows best what is best for us than we can ever think or imagine.
Above all, relying upon the Divine means that though I may have limited capacities and countless defects yet the Divine Grace is omnipotent and will take me to the goal, in Her own way and Her own time, the difficulties of our nature notwithstanding.
Affectionately,
