AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER

When someone talks to themselves, who are they talking to๐Ÿ˜? The mind is just mumbling in solitude, right? If someone prays, isn’t it the same action? The mind creates an image that religion has given, referring to it as God, and then it engages in a conversation with that image in its mind. Is there something different happening that is being overlooked?

There are many levels of the mind and there are things beyond the mind itself.ย  When we speak to ourselves we are speaking from one part of the mind to another.ย  It is a play of the ego. When we pray we are not speaking to our little self centred ego around our usual things but to That which is beyond the Mind. We can call it God or our own highest Self. The truth of God is based on real experience of those who searched for God, an experience that all can have if they follow the way shown by those who have gone before us. Religion is a different matter. It is a belief system even though it does help man at times to get onto the path leading to God.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

It is the actual experience of a god each time he or she takes a human birth. The consciousness of a true, great god is high and vast and pure. But the human consciousness and the human instruments of speech and action, let alone the world conditions do not support this vastness that …

My niece who is 12 yrs old doesn’t like sharing๐Ÿ˜ฅ. If she takes her favorite food to school and her friends ask her to share, she doesn’t give or gives a very small piece. If by chance she happens to share a chocolate with girls she doesn’t like, she wants to snatch it away. She is attached to Krishna, and only thing that pacifies her is when we tell her that Krishna likes if she shares what He has given her. She says “I know it’s bad, i know it’s a devil that says this, but I can’t overpower it. It tells me that those girls did bad and said bad things about you, instead of that you shared your things, now you go steal something from them. Or I keep thinking what will I get if I give them”..[conti]
