AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER

Alok da, I’ve once heard you say in one of the talks that a disciple who was away for sometime to study or something was surprised to see Sri Aurobindo’s hair and skin texture changing when he came back. I mean obviously not anywhere near to Sri Aurobindo’s tapas but are any little alchemical changes possible in our body when we offer all the daily acts at a minute level cos this does require us to be mindful of all the psychological states and physical inclinations and the identification and carrying with them in a state of exclusive concentration lessens and what people usually observe about stress reflecting in someone’s face and texture might not if this is the case. I don’t wanna reduce yogic practices to the desire of gaining some mere physical beauty or anything but that comment of yours was in mind for a long time and made me thinking about physical impacts of spiritual practices🤨.

Yes it was Shri AB Purani ji who noted the marked change in Sri Aurobindo. In those who sincerely take to the Yoga some changes even in the physical do begin, for example a delay in the ageing process, less fatigue, slowing of the deterioration of certain organs, relative mastery over diseases etc. Yes even the face does show some change due to plasticity instead of rigidity.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

My niece who is 12 yrs old doesn’t like sharing😥. If she takes her favorite food to school and her friends ask her to share, she doesn’t give or gives a very small piece. If by chance she happens to share a chocolate with girls she doesn’t like, she wants to snatch it away. She is attached to Krishna, and only thing that pacifies her is when we tell her that Krishna likes if she shares what He has given her. She says “I know it’s bad, i know it’s a devil that says this, but I can’t overpower it. It tells me that those girls did bad and said bad things about you, instead of that you shared your things, now you go steal something from them. Or I keep thinking what will I get if I give them”..[conti]
