Accidents and catastrophes are not because of machines but due to unconsciousness. Machines may create greater chances of accidents but their real flip side is an increasing dependence upon machinery and as a result, a diminution of one’s natural capacities. To that extent machinery has dulled our protective reflexes and made us more vulnerable. But the way forward is to become more conscious, not only mentally but also in the body through a regular physical culture. As to fear, it is the worst mentor and often attracts what is feared. There are indeed some people who do attract accidents. But it is difficult to avoid people or machines. It is best to become more and more conscious and live with faith in the Divine Grace rather than fear.
