AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Dada I want to silent my mind. From 5 years I am regularly listening all your Auromaa talks. i practice concentration in my heart with mother presence, some time I had some beautiful experiences but I can’t proceed further, asking always mother for help but I am not able to silent my mind and I feel this is the obstacle that stopping me. I am moving in one place from 3 to 4 years please help me 😐

Silencing the mind is not an easy thing. What one should try instead is to quieten the mind, to fill the thoughts with peace. It is relatively easier and what is needed is to remove the causes of disturbance. Most of the disturbance arises due to the intrusion of desires which creates restlessness. The way to achieve it is to practice nishkama karma and equanimity rigorously and thoroughly.  If you sincerely practice this dedicating everything to the Divine Mother, surrendering all to Her with Her Name, Naam Jap inwardly, then everything becomes quiet and eventually falls silent.

Experiences are alright, they come and go. But the real thing is self giving and surrender.

One should also practice witness attitude. Learn to step back instead of reacting to every appearance and sensation that knocks to be admitted. By doing so, one learns to slowly live within untouched by changing situations and circumstances. This brings peace and quietude.

Affectionately,

Alok Da
