Mind as a principle is a plane of consciousness that extends across several layers. These layers or levels of consciousness has each its separate Time-Space dimension and Substance-Energy combination that is other than the physical dimensions or the material universe.
The human mind draws only a small selection of the universal mental planes and for doing so it uses the instrumentality of the brain evolved by nature for this purpose. The mind is not located in the brain, it is everywhere in operation. The brain however receives its vibrations from the mental worlds, gives them an appropriate dress as form of thought based on language conditioning and then expresses itself through speech.
It is somewhat like a computer. We may ask where is the program on display located. The obvious answer would be outside and way beyond the computer in internet space. The hardware is like the brain box that simply receives and displays it through the coded language using the electrical circuits.
