AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Is it ok to get distracted by curiosity? because I want to know more about other countries of the world. not necessarily politics but how people from different cultures are living. There are 195 countries in the world. I feel so small when I think about this and it brings a lot of clarity to live my life with this in mind. I know Mother is taking care of all, so I do not think too much about the negative conditions they are in anymore. It only makes me feel grateful for what I have. I feel my academic progress is moving too slowly as I was wasting a lot of time in the past, now I am feeling the effects of it. I want to make up for all the lost time as quickly as possible and be able to help the world and be an instrument of Mother. I don’t know yet what my ikigai is. I know this means to help myself/make the inner progress first. To be honest I feel I am doing the best I can in the moment, but I know I can do better also so I’m often in a state of narcissism and worry. How do I not get distracted and focus on the academics🤨?

Knowing about different countries and cultures is a good thing. It brings wideness. Curiosity is not necessarily bad. World knowledge is part of the total knowledge. But as we grow inwardly it should be integrated with a growing God-knowledge.

Most important is not to analyse oneself too much especially about being narcissistic etc. Just be keen for progress, for knowing as many different things as you can and keep the Mother inwardly in your heart, as your friend and confidante, as mentor, counsellor and guide. Human journey starts with ignorance and imperfections. What is important is not to pay too much attention to them but instead to keep growing steadily towards what we intend to be.

Affectionately,

Alok Da
