AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I am narrating a case here; it was a child who completed his schooling at a Sri Aurobindo Integral School. He is now 29-30 years old. When he was in class 7, everything was good for him as he had a good personality & good relations with friends & teachers. 🧑🏼‍🎓🏫📱🌼[…]

But a case came that someone had stolen a mobile phone from a teacher, & That incident had happened in his room where the boy was staying with 13-15 students. So the process of enquiries started & as the boy was in class 7, standard, & other were younger so principal, along with other teachers, start doubted to that boy, though there were 3 boys of class 7, still a finger of doubt came to the boy.

This process went on for 3-4 days. The principal called all the room members of that room to the office & instructed that whoever had stolen the mobile kindly go one by one & keep the mobile on the bed of apa who was staying in that room, so that no one would look at you. & Mobile phone finally found.

The process didn’t complete. Principal want to know who kept that mobile on the bed & harassed all the teachers for 3- 4 days. So she called frequently to those 2 students only, one by one, to whom she doubted. & During the class, suddenly a 9-10 standard student or a senior student used to come to the classroom & tell that the principal had called this boy, sir. So all the classmates see him as a bad way. Due to this type of surrounding pressure, the boy was unable to say the truth that he had not stolen the mobile phone. Under pressure he agreed with the principal that he had stolen that, to avoid this type of calling him repeatedly to the office from the classroom.

So the student possessed a bad character till 10 standard (3 years). Though after a long period, he again established his good character as the principal was teaching only 9-10 students. When she came in contact with that boy, he used to say yes a good boy; also assigned him the mentor charge finally a good relationship was established. And after schooling by phone, the boy told the truth about the mobile being stolen, that he had not stolen the mobile. After knowing the truth, the principal also expressed emotions with love & care.

The question is why happened this type of extremely bad event happened to a boy. Though during this critical moment, he used to come in contact with the photo of the Mother, that ‘You know the Truth Maa & handle the situation Maa’ – still the Mother didn’t help the boy. May you tell us something about this event? Or it was bound to happen, or a Past Life Karma, or to awaken the boy towards the Mother?

These events, in some form or the other, happen in many people’s lives, and more so in those who are marked out for doing something good or great. They are of the nature of misunderstandings, confusion, accusations and though they have their roots in the past, the purpose they serve is to test our faith and endurance. Those who come out of it successfully grow strong and wise. Others who are not ready fail the test and become weak, submissive, underconfident and fearful. The said boy was indeed helped by the Grace to pass this test in flying colours, making his character shine out even better.

Having said that, there is something to be learned by him through all this. Whatever the external pressure, one should learn to stand firm by the truth that one believes in. The boy succumbed to falsehood and told a lie that he stole, even though he hadn’t. This was a big mistake and shows a certain weakness on which he needs to work upon. There was absolutely no reason for him to tell a lie. If one cannot stand up for oneself or the truth that one knows, then it is idle to want God to help you. Though the help did come to him, not in the way one conventionally expects as a change of circumstances, but as an inner help that held him through the journey and eventually cleaned up everything and built a harmony. Sometimes God’s action seems delayed, but if we keep our faith and patience, it is more complete and perfect in the end.

Affectionately,

Alok Da
