AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER

I know there are more direct inner paths that lead to the Divine Mother than ritualistic worship and ceremonial acts—but these are only possible through complete surrender and devotion. In today’s age, when people are steeped in ignorance, ego, and desire, how many can realistically walk such a path😳? Until such individuals awaken full faith and surrender, what should they do to escape their suffering? Many of their problems and afflictions are beyond human effort to resolve. Here, the scriptures guide us. From the study of various authentic texts, it appears that the Daughter of the Mountain—fully aware of the soul’s inability to perceive its subtle nature—took form in various manifestations for the welfare of the three worlds and to liberate the Earth from the weight of sin. This is the firm belief of those who tread the path of spiritual discipline under the protection and guidance of sacred scripture. [conti]

Our scriptures outline numerous profound and time-tested practices—such as the worship of Tripura Sundari or the Shri Yantra, and the disciplines of Mrityunjaya, Gayatri, Navarna, or Bija mantras. For thousands of years, householders in Bharat have turned to Gayatri sadhana for the Divine Mother’s help in living a noble life.

I humbly request individuals of your stature and intellect to refrain from implicitly rejecting these aspects of Sanatan Dharma. Doing so can offer genuine support to ordinary people who are unaware of its true depth, yet long for a better way of living.

I am not saying something that has been said for the first time. Even Sri Krishna says so. In my experience any devotee, even with the slightest of faith, calls for the Divine Help directly, without any outer processes, the help will come, does come. And it is much easier, much simpler, direct and often instantaneous and powerful. It is the simple human beings who can do this and it doesn’t need anything except trust in the Divine Grace. Again this too is affirmed by Sri Krishna himself.

Nevertheless there is no problem if people wish to take a longer path or have faith in the Intermediary powers. It is perfectly fine. To each his own way.

Affectionately,

Alok Da
