AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I want to know if I knew the Mother even in my past births. Had I been closer to Mother and stayed in Pondicherry even in my immediate previous birth? Also, at times, you mention references about Sadhakas of Pondicherry Ashram and In fact other popular personalities like Napoleon, Gandhi, Aurangzeb, etc to have been Vibhutis in past life. I want to learn more. Where can I find to read them๐Ÿค”?

Napoleon, Augustus Caesar, Leonardo Da Vinci, Rishi Agastya are some of the known Vibhitis of Sri Aurobindo whereas Joan of Arc, Queen Catherine the great of Russia, Hatsheput in Egypt, Saint Mirabai are known Vibhutis of the Mother.

Gandhi and Aurangzeb were not Vibhutis. Aurangzeb and Dara did come to the Ashram in their present life but the former left after some time. Gandhi and Churchill were instruments for the Divine Purpose, both generally not conscious of the forces working through them.

There is no one place from where one can read these things.

If you have a strong inner conviction that you were with the Mother, then there is a great likelihood that you were. The final confirmation may come through a dream or declare itself in a vision or other forms of disclosure.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

What was being refered to are the stock and standard Bhajans which hardly fall into the true category. But there are beautiful soul-uplifting bhajans with equally beautiful music that flows from the depths which is even helpful at one stage of sadhana, especially in the preliminary stages. An example of the former type could be, ‘suna hai …

Dada, I watched the Movie Dhurandhar (Part 1 & 2). The struggle of the main character felt like a present-day Arjuna. I would love to hear your thoughts on it. Is there any Spiritual Lesson we can take from it? ๐Ÿน๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐ŸŽž๏ธ๐ŸŒป๐ŸŽฌ

From the archetype point of view, the character of the main protagonist (hero) in this film is more like Abhimanyu except that it ends up with a happier fate. Like Abhimanyu, he enters into the enemy ranks from where coming out was near impossible. He is trained but inexperienced, again like Abhimanyu. He is valiant, courageous, puts …

In one of your lectures on โ€œPlanned Action and Divine Action,โ€ you mentioned that when we are praised or felicitated, one should neither deny it nor take personal pride in it. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿชทโœจ[…]

Yes, if one looks within and finds that one has done what best one could do in a given situation, then one should remain inwardly quiet and see why one gets disturbed by the criticism. It is generally either because one expects some appreciation or praise or at least..
