AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I want to know something about Subliminal. What’s Subliminal and what is it’s role in the path of Integral Yoga ?

Asked by a 63 year old Man

Subliminal means below the threshold of awareness. Just as we see a strip of the sky or a large pool of water around us when we stand in the sea yet there is so much of the sea and sky and earth that escapes our perception. So too we are aware only of a small band of thoughts and sensations and feelings and impulses selected by the ego-self which we call as our personality. But this is only the tip of the iceberg. There is behind our outer personality an inner being, an inner mind that receives freely from the universal Mind Space, an inner world of feelings and impulsions that receives freely from the universal vital, even an inner physical that receives vibrations from all around, inner senses that perceive what the outer senses miss. All this is the Subliminal that is open to the universal around us, to the energies of the subconscient below us and to the Influence of the superconscient forces and powers above us.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Sometimes, when I work as an Offering to the Divine, I expect nothing from it. But I feel that I do it with the motivation that when I work for the Divine, I will be purified and spiritually Progress. Is this a good motivation to have, or that becomes a desire too? 🫴🏼🌼😊🙏🏼🌷

It is not a desire but an aspiration which is perfectly valid. Desire springs from the vital and its purpose is aggrandisement or pleasure or an increase in quantity. Aspiration is for an improvement of quality in our instrumental  nature, for its progress and betterment for the Divine Work, even for outer things so that we
