AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

There are many people in India who do not understand the English used by Sri Aurobindo. But if they connect with the Mother and Sri Aurobindo with love, is that enough, even if they don’t read or fully understand their teachings🤔?

Reading and understanding about the principles of the Yoga but not all are required to undertake it nor is it indispensable for the practice of the yoga.

It is not thought but love that is the master key that opens the royal road to the Divine. But it must be of the nature of faith, surrender and a giving of oneself to the Divine with trust and confidence in the Mother’s Grace.

‘It is the heart that has wings, not the head.’

‘All can be done by the Divine, the heart and nature purified, the inner consciousness awakened, the veils removed, if one gives oneself to the Divine with trust and confidence—and even if one cannot do so fully at once, yet the more one does so, the more the inner help and guidance comes and the contact and the experience of the Divine grows within. If the questioning mind becomes less active and humility and the will to surrender grow in you, this ought to be perfectly possible. No other strength and tapasya are then needed, but this alone.’

Affectionately,

Alok Da

The talk sounded like you were putting down Marriage as a concept! True, some regions do this horse ride/wasting money, which is in bad taste. However, Marriage as a concept gives the monkey minds a framework. 🥸💍💒[…]

Yes, I agree that for the average human being, these outer frameworks and social institutions do serve a purpose of holding people together. Of course, as I mentioned, marriage or not, love and togetherness can be beautiful and ought to be so. But for that, man needs to evolve beyond the present frameworks, which operate as long as one accepts the limits of dos and don’ts. …
