AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

What is the best way to maintain calm and equanimity and keep a feeling of strength when seeing old people suffer🤕?

One of my elderly friends went through a tough surgery and to see her struggle is becoming a bit difficult for me. As of now, I have remained calm and offered her pain to sweet Maa. This is all I know.

One should turn the focus away from the physical body and focus more on the inner being and the soul. One should remind oneself and the person that life is a continuous stream and death and suffering are masks and passing incidents.

Sitting with the person one should just hold hand and think of Her and invoke Her Peace and Grace and Love rather than talk about the body and physical condition.

And then to quietly offer the person and their suffering at Her Feet.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

A vision in a dream is more difficult to distinguish from a vivid dream-experience but one gets to feel the difference”- from Letters of Yoga. Alok Da, can you please explain the last line written by Sri Aurobindo? 🌄

A vivid dream experience is generally of a symbolic nature that reveals a deeper truth through the sign language of dreams. A vision, on the other hand is an…
