AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

When are we ready to meet God😇?

This Usually happens after a long period of evolution through a number of lives, eventually through a mounting aspiration assisted by meditation, bhakti, service, sincerity and faith, finally as an act of Grace.

Sri Aurobindo reveals in Savitri.

T’he great are strongest when they stand alone.

A God-given might of being is their force,

A ray from self’s solitude of light the guide;

The soul that can live alone with itself meets God;

Its lonely universe is their rendezvous.’

He further assures

‘Whatever the appearance we must bear,

Whatever our strong ills and present fate,

When nothing we can see but drift and bale,

A mighty Guidance leads us still through all.

After we have served this great divided world

God’s bliss and oneness are our inborn right.

A date is fixed in the calendar of the Unknown,

An anniversary of the Birth sublime:

Our soul shall justify its chequered walk,

All will come near that now is naught or far.’

Affectionately,

Alok Da

I have a question that makes me feel that people compare and based on their comparison, they decide and come to their preferences; they favour them. It is wonderful that you are able to see the falsehood behind this kind of vital love of praise which is indeed a kind of falsehood. Yes it is everywhere and it takes a great degree of sincerity to be able to detect it. But now that by the effect of the Grace you are able to discern it, you must try to live only to please the Divine and that means …

It’s easier to think about aligning with God when idle, but harder in moments of real choice—especially when torn between comfort and asking, “What would God want me to do?” Acting with sincerity, enthusiasm, and self-forgetfulness, being a resource to others, and embodying cheerful equanimity feels like a truer way to connect with the Divine. Imagining Their presence and working for Them helps deepen that connection. 🫨🌼🦋[…]

The defects you enumerate are universal, though the extent and expression differs. Their root cause is ego, ignorance and desire which almost universally afflict all mankind. …

Hello Da, I had once read writings by Sri Aurobindo and the Mother in which they described Winston Churchill as a vessel and vital instrument of the Divine during World War II, opposing the “dark Asuric force” represented by Hitler. They also expressed support for Churchill during the war against the Axis powers. 🤔🪖🌾🌾[…]

To justify one’s actions because of your background is, what I term as the Karna syndrome. Both karna and Arjuna had difficult harsh childhood. But one ended up becoming an instrument of the Asura while other an instrument of the Divine…
