AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

2 interesting symbolic dreams in 2 days: My father was driving a car ๐Ÿš— and I in the back seat (in real life my dad is a great driver). Suddenly my father makes a mistake and drives off road launching our car into mid air. As this was in the mountains, I was sure we were going to crash and die. After the car flew for 10 meters or so in the air, it spun 360 degrees and miraculously and very smoothly landed on an ONLY road that was there (and which went perpendicular to the one we were on previously). Somehow, I managed to record all of this on my phone and watch the video back [conti]

I showed this video to my uncle and he couldnโ€™t believe it. I told him โ€” this is the action of the Divine Grace. Furthermore, this โ€œONLYโ€ road that we landed on was the only one in the radius of a few kilometers making such an incident particularly unlikely and symbolic. What could the meaning be? I consulted somebody I know, and the person gave a very interesting view that this could represent my vital being driven by desire and leading to dangerous roads but ultimately the psychic saving me by placing me on the spiritual path (the Only road). Want to get a second view.

Father represents the mind which believes it knows. But it makes mistakes and sometimes dangerous ones, possibly under the influence of desires. But the Divine Grace is there with you which not only saves but shows you the right road.

Second day: I was at my deceased grandmotherโ€™s house. There were several venomous snakes inside. They bit her many times, and I knew that she will die from those bites. I somehow managed to escape these snakes and run to the roof of the building. Still, even there I found some snakes. There was a certain uncomfortable and spooky sensation in the dream. I was on the edge of my seat during the whole experience.

The dead grandmother are subconscious impressions that are buried like dark and dangerous energies of Nature. The snakes are these dark energies emerging, possibly fears of all kinds trying to chase you right upto the mind (roof). But then you are pulled out from there by the Grace again.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Purification is the indispensable basis for liberation. It means removing the covering and coating of ignorance and falsehood that veils the true self. In the yoga seeking for mukti, the purification has to be less thorough. It is enough to bring some sattwic rectitude in nature, satwasanshuddhi. Transformation proper..

The talk sounded like you were putting down Marriage as a concept! True, some regions do this horse ride/wasting money, which is in bad taste. However, Marriage as a concept gives the monkey minds a framework. ๐Ÿฅธ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’’[…]

Yes, I agree that for the average human being, these outer frameworks and social institutions do serve a purpose of holding people together. Of course, as I mentioned, marriage or not, love and togetherness can be beautiful and ought to be so. But for that, man needs to evolve beyond the present frameworks, which operate as long as one accepts the limits of dos and don’ts. …
