AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Mother says there is no evil, the only one evil is that things are not in its proper time and place, then what about men like Hitler and Pablo Escobar😈?

Hitler was indeed an incarnation of the Asura of falsehood. Paolo Escobar was indeed a criminal who pumped cocaine into the world market.

Now if you trace the consciousness of these people, let’s take the worse of these, in fact one of the worst in the history of human civilisation, that is Hitler, a clearly anti-divine Asura, and trace its origin. We will see that this kind of an Asuric domination of the world, killing, looting massacre and cruelty all, not only existed but were accepted by the common man as a way of life upon earth. Conquest of lands and brutality upon the subjects, deceit and cunning was once a way of life when man was evolving out of the beast. During this phase of human evolution, a primitive early stage man was rather in a state of dense dark tamas and needed very strong violent sensations to feel alive. His newly developing mental abilities to think, plan and organise were completely at the mercy of the brutal beast in us. Now what was acceptable few thousand years back was becoming more and more unacceptable as man was evolving with the help of Reason towards democratic ideals and had started dreaming of liberty, equality and fraternity. The coming of Hitler at this point of time when mankind was preparing to shed his animal and asuric past and assume more rational if not yet larger spiritual ideals was completely out of sync with time. If the same man came during the age of empires he might have passed off as another brutal, ambitious king. But his emergence now was a throwback to times that humanity was preparing to leave behind.

The same way we can understand everything that we find evil today. Human sacrifice, using severed heads as trophees of war, inflicting severe pain and tortures were all part of our common life. Today we find them unacceptable and hence evil.

It is true of our individual life as well. What was good when we were growing up becomes a hurdle, even opening the possibility of evil if it persists when one has evolved past a stage, – the seeking after pleasure for example. Paolo Escobar capitalized on human hedonistic tendencies after all and made money out of duping people into a false adrenalin rush.

Affectionately

Are the processes of Purification and Transformation the same thing? I have a little confusion. In the process of Purification, we face some adverse forces that are mentioned by Sri Aurobindo in the chapter ‘The difficulties of Transformation’. Are they the same? 🔥🌄[…]

Purification is the indispensable basis for liberation. It means removing the covering and coating of ignorance and falsehood that veils the true self. In the yoga seeking for mukti, the purification has to be less thorough. It is enough to bring some sattwic rectitude in nature, satwasanshuddhi. Transformation proper..

Can we understand Sri Aurobindo and His yoga with the physical mind, as you say physical mind never grasps the Truth in its highest sense. So if we feel good by reading Sri Aurobindo or The Mother, even that is from the physical plane, wanting a good, perfect physical life. 😅❤️‍🔥🦋 […]

Yes, it is difficult for the physical mind to shift its fixed position and comfort zones..It feels lost and insecure. But once it accepts the New Idea then it gets firmly established there. It is somewhat like…

The talk sounded like you were putting down Marriage as a concept! True, some regions do this horse ride/wasting money, which is in bad taste. However, Marriage as a concept gives the monkey minds a framework. 🥸💍💒[…]

Yes, I agree that for the average human being, these outer frameworks and social institutions do serve a purpose of holding people together. Of course, as I mentioned, marriage or not, love and togetherness can be beautiful and ought to be so. But for that, man needs to evolve beyond the present frameworks, which operate as long as one accepts the limits of dos and don’ts. …
