AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Since some time, I see that philanthropy has become like a fashion in the society I live in, I find it absurd and feel its just showing off as in look how good I am doing or what a good person I am as if they are not sure and they need people to tell them so. I find it absurd how people call themselves a philanthropist. Can you please explain about this idea๐Ÿ˜

All these are three inferior kinds of philanthropy. The third may prepare us for spiritual life but generally they keep us tied to the circle of ignorance. But there is a fourth and highest kind of giving where the heart is moved by a divine impulsion to give either as an expression of gratitude or because one feels moved to give for some divine work or else simply by a deep kindness and compassion. Though often not considered as philanthropy, it is the best giving as it helps us in our spiritual progress.

Partly it is due to the strong awakening of Rajas in a society that was, for a rather long time oppressed, supressed and made to feel low, in one word tamas. This is a resurgence of excessive rajas which will sooner or later stabilise and, given the …

What is generally called as charisma is some exceptional ability or capacity that gets reflected through the person’s outer nature. Generally it is some kind of a vital energy, not necessarily good. Sometimes, rarely though, it may be a kind of intellectual development that attracts others.ย …
