AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

What is the best way to do a job๐Ÿ˜?

Whatever we do must be done with the heart and mind and if possible our soul in it. Putting the mind means we should do it not only with the technical knowledge involved in the work but also its impact upon others. It should be done consciously and not in a thoughtless manner.

Putting the heart into it means doing it as an act of love and not a mechanical drudgery or simply to earn money. When we do something with our heart in it, we get joy in It and need no other reward or recompense.

Putting the soul in it means doing it not for satisfying the ego or desires, for the material and subtle rewards we may get or to fulfill some ambition, but as an act of worship and offering to the Divine.

Of course we must do it well with an eye towards perfection. But the inner attitude should be different and change.

Affectionately,

Alok Da
