What are your thoughts on donation of the body organs after death, from a spiritual perspective?

Body donation is a Christian and some neo – Buddhist doctrines that regards the body as essentially inert matter with no utility after death. Certain other religions like Zoroastrianism also feel the same way. The donation of organs on death is considered as a life giving act of compassion. But this is a flawed idea from the higher spiritual point of view. During the course of a lifetime the body gathers certain impressions which the departing soul gathers for its future evolution. That is why in Hinduism one gives time for the process of withdrawal from the body to be complete during which a religious atmosphere is to be created in which the soul can dwell for a while before it bids a final goodbye. After this time period which generally extends for nearly 24 hours or more, the body is given to fire to destroy the elemental energies and dark beings of the vital world that gather around to feed upon the disintegrating vital (what are known as preta).

In the case of body or organ donation one has to shift the body which is then embalmed with chemicals or else operated upon for a quick removal of organs. All this creates a disturbance and confusion for the departing soul besides it being suddenly exposed to the filthy vital atmosphere that abounds in a typically hospital setting. This method of somehow saving and extending life is understandable in the Western context which believes in only one life, and hence pushes for ventilators, organ donation and emergency life support systems. It is impressive no doubt if we look at it superficially and only from the body perspective but it is not a good practice from the deeper occult and spiritual perspective.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

My question is, Gita says: “It is better to do one’s own dharma, even though imperfectly, than to do another’s dharma, even though perfectly.” – How does it apply on a daily basis to us internally and our interactions in life? 📙😊🙏🏻🌸

It means that it is better to live according to your own inmost impulsion of truth, even if it brings outer failure, than to achieve success by following a way of life that is not in tune with your own inmost truth, even if it brings success. ..

I am unable to understand this said by The Mother. Please explain to me: “You must use everything for the purpose for which it is given, otherwise you commit a crime. I am not speaking merely of physical things. All the inner things that I am giving you all the time, all the strength, light, energy and life that are being poured into you all the time, are meant for the service of the Divine, for the sake of transforming you. If you use them for any other purpose, you are a robber and your crime is the worst possible.” ~ The Mother (CWM 13:183)

It means that all the capacities that we have, – physical, vital, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, should be offered at the Feet of the Divine for His Work and Service. Most of the time however we take these capacities to be …
