AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Looking at the current situation in India I believe democracy is not working, its more of a hindrance, in one of you talks you talked about Sanathan Dharma, you talked a new type of politics, can you please elaborate on this? What can be a new way of politics for India🤔?

Democracy is the child of Reason and hence was meant only as a stop gap system. Its strength lies in uplifting the average man to a minimum of rationality through education and certain common civil values. Its defect lies in the fact that masses of humanity is still far from reason and even if they are, still when it comes to electing their leader, they go either by selfish rather than national interests or else by a certain herd instinct to eject someone whom they consider physically close rather than intellectually competent. Besides with social media platforms and the increase use of AI as a political tool, it has become easy to sway and manipulate the votes.

What then is the solution? The ideal is of course to hasten man’s evolution from the rational to the spiritual through a new kind of education.  Until that happens leading to the emergence of true leaders among men, the best way is a federal structure with the head as President who is chosen by the elite, the professional, intellectual, thinkers etc. He should be chosen from a group of human beings with impeccable integrity who have served in various aspects of the country and understand its ethos well. Each party should thereby put up its presidential candidate who should share his or her plans for the country with the masses going for vote. The freebie culture should completely stop and any promises made should be supported by the logical way it will be fulfilled. A promise without the path to secure it is like a relationship without committment.

Also much greater autonomy needs to be given to the village and only few critical sectors such as finances, defence, education and certain basic laws should be with the Centre. It means cutting down on a large number of ministry allowing people more and more of self-governance. Assisting the President should be an Oligarchy or a council of ministers picked up not through election but a selection of the best in the fields.

Meanwhile mankind should hasten its spiritual evolution if it seeks to have a future.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Purification is the indispensable basis for liberation. It means removing the covering and coating of ignorance and falsehood that veils the true self. In the yoga seeking for mukti, the purification has to be less thorough. It is enough to bring some sattwic rectitude in nature, satwasanshuddhi. Transformation proper..

Can we understand Sri Aurobindo and His yoga with the physical mind, as you say physical mind never grasps the Truth in its highest sense. So if we feel good by reading Sri Aurobindo or The Mother, even that is from the physical plane, wanting a good, perfect physical life. 😅❤️‍🔥🦋 […]

Yes, it is difficult for the physical mind to shift its fixed position and comfort zones..It feels lost and insecure. But once it accepts the New Idea then it gets firmly established there. It is somewhat like…

The talk sounded like you were putting down Marriage as a concept! True, some regions do this horse ride/wasting money, which is in bad taste. However, Marriage as a concept gives the monkey minds a framework. 🥸💍💒[…]

Yes, I agree that for the average human being, these outer frameworks and social institutions do serve a purpose of holding people together. Of course, as I mentioned, marriage or not, love and togetherness can be beautiful and ought to be so. But for that, man needs to evolve beyond the present frameworks, which operate as long as one accepts the limits of dos and don’ts. …
