AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Alok da what is the steps of soul and stages of Sri Aurobindo’s Integral yoga sadhana🙏?

The first step is aspiration, a sincere genuine aspiration. In the beginning this aspiration has to be nurtured by taking out a special time to concentrate upon the heart, the centre of the chest upon this aspiration of finding the Divine.  The soul will grow and emerge as a consequence.

Slowly this aspiration must occupy more and more time and space until it becomes an imperative need. It is the intensity of aspiration that is most important.

Along with this and as an aid to concentration one should call the Mother’s Name, Naam japa in the heart and keep offering one’s actions to Her. The more we surrender to Her, the faster the soul tends to emerge out of its veil of ignorance.

And then to refuse those movements such as anger, lust, fear, excitements that create inner noise and disturbance.

This is the core practice. All the rest develops and it is best not to give it a precise mental form as the mind then begins to fabricate experiences. The sign that one is moving in the right direction is a growing inner peace and joy, growing love for the Divine, increase in faith, sincerity and surrender.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

First about the facts. Mr Sonam Wangchuk is not inspired by Sri Aurobindo. There is nothing even remotely common between him and Sri Aurobindo whose name he has used as if he is going through a similar process. It …

“There is no criterion, but one can easily distinguish if one is in the inward condition, not sleep, in which most visions take place, by the nature of the impression made. A vision in a dream is more difficult to distinguish from a vivid dream-experience but one gets to feel the difference”- from Letters of Yoga. Alok Da, can you please explain the last line written by Sri Aurobindo? 🌄

A vivid dream experience is generally of a symbolic nature that reveals a deeper truth through the sign language of dreams. A vision, on the other hand is an…
