AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

For 2-3 days now during meditation I am getting glimpses of Gauri sitting in snowy mountain conditions with Shiva and their both sons (specially of Ganesha having more clear image) sending her blessings of auspiciousness. In this background please let me know your views on the significance of mount Kailash as the abode of Shiva and Shakti in our religion. I always wonder how a place on earth plane could be a home to the divine family🤨.

Gauri is the Divine Mother who has become this earth nature. Shiva is the Lord of tapasya who helps her to rise to the highest point to which material nature is capable of rising. There she joins the Divine Soul. This union of the Divine Soul and Earth-nature is the theme of Ramayana as well. This union gives birth to Kartikeya, the Flame-child who is the representative of the psychic being. He is the leader of the gods who leads and fights the battle between the gods and the Titans. On the other hand Ganesh is the power of knowledge that destroys all obstacles. He is a special power, a direct formation of the Divine Mother whom Shiva adopts after destroying the pride of being a special instrument of the Divine Mother. Vasuki is the serpent who represents the evolutionary force and Nandi, the Bull, is strength in the service of God. Kailash is the highest peak of earth consciousness to which man can rise through tapasya.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Purification is the indispensable basis for liberation. It means removing the covering and coating of ignorance and falsehood that veils the true self. In the yoga seeking for mukti, the purification has to be less thorough. It is enough to bring some sattwic rectitude in nature, satwasanshuddhi. Transformation proper..

Can we understand Sri Aurobindo and His yoga with the physical mind, as you say physical mind never grasps the Truth in its highest sense. So if we feel good by reading Sri Aurobindo or The Mother, even that is from the physical plane, wanting a good, perfect physical life. 😅❤️‍🔥🦋 […]

The talk sounded like you were putting down Marriage as a concept! True, some regions do this horse ride/wasting money, which is in bad taste. However, Marriage as a concept gives the monkey minds a framework. 🥸💍💒[…]

Yes, I agree that for the average human being, these outer frameworks and social institutions do serve a purpose of holding people together. Of course, as I mentioned, marriage or not, love and togetherness can be beautiful and ought to be so. But for that, man needs to evolve beyond the present frameworks, which operate as long as one accepts the limits of dos and don’ts. …
