AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER

How does pornography affect our mind? The imaginations…the sense of fulfillment, but fallen in guilt in the very next moment. How does all this affect our inner well-being🫢?

Pornography is very damaging for the following reasons.

1. It almost blocks emotional capacity as the mind is habituated to see a man or a woman as a sex object meant for pleasure and sense gratification.

2. If indulged it drags the consciousness to the lower vital and sensory levels whereas the true station of man should be Reason, buddhi and the deeper psychic. Loss of memory and concentration are the subsequent consequences. Living in pleasure and a seeking for pleasure tends to slowly diminish the higher mental faculties, makes us restless and weakens our energy levels and inner strength.

3. Sex should be at least something beautiful, a meeting and joining of two beings who have felt love and the physical act only completes the growing inner union. Pornography disrupts this and disconnects the act from its deeper truth creating an inner division, a life of morbid fantasy filling the mind with filth and a life of so called normal man woman relationship based upon emotions. Pornography gives us a very distorted version of the sexual act, degrading it to mere seeking of pleasure from the partner. But a more human version of sexuality is so much more about what goes before and even more importantly after the sexual act. Sex is only a means to bring two people together and cannot be a passing one night act as it has become. All the deeper feelings, tender emotions, care and commitment should with it and not just a fast food type satisfaction of animal appetite.

4. The world of pornography and the money and forces behind it are forces of falsehood that can take possession of the freely indulgent human being and turn him into their slave. It is a dangerous net of dark elemental energies that can take hold the mind of a weak personality, further weakening his will and opening doors to fear and falsehood in the long run.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Purification is the indispensable basis for liberation. It means removing the covering and coating of ignorance and falsehood that veils the true self. In the yoga seeking for mukti, the purification has to be less thorough. It is enough to bring some sattwic rectitude in nature, satwasanshuddhi. Transformation proper..

Can we understand Sri Aurobindo and His yoga with the physical mind, as you say physical mind never grasps the Truth in its highest sense. So if we feel good by reading Sri Aurobindo or The Mother, even that is from the physical plane, wanting a good, perfect physical life. 😅❤️‍🔥🦋 […]

The talk sounded like you were putting down Marriage as a concept! True, some regions do this horse ride/wasting money, which is in bad taste. However, Marriage as a concept gives the monkey minds a framework. 🥸💍💒[…]

Yes, I agree that for the average human being, these outer frameworks and social institutions do serve a purpose of holding people together. Of course, as I mentioned, marriage or not, love and togetherness can be beautiful and ought to be so. But for that, man needs to evolve beyond the present frameworks, which operate as long as one accepts the limits of dos and don’ts. …
