The Divine does not act according to the human ideas of omnipotence. He allows a great degree of freedom of choices to the human instruments rather than crush them into silence which is the way of the insecure Titan. He lets people choose the strings to which they will hold on to until the day when He shakes them and all that was misaligned drops off like dry leaves in the dust. This is the hardest lesson for man to learn that he is nothing and can do nothing without the Lord. Instead human beings easily get drunk with pride and believe they are the doers of great deeds. But as you see in the story of the Kena Upanishad even the gods get humbled when the Lord arrives.
Yes, it is an interesting Lila of the Lord that is going on in Ayodhya. All that i can say is that mankind has yet to learn its lessons.
Affectionately,
Alok Da
