AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Sri Aurobindo’s Yoga gives the least importance to worship and rituals. Rather it excludes them. Then why did our sages devise so many rituals? Why did they advise us to worship many gods? I believe that these worships and rituals must have some great benefits, otherwise our sages should not have invented them. Your kind thoughts🤔.

Everything has its place, its role and its function in the grand scheme of things. Rituals were used by certain rishis to invoke and propitiate certain gods for material and other gains such as healing, having progeny, material prosperity. Later they were as means to invoke certain deities grow in consciousness and progress in terms of knowledge, power and other capacities. Later they were discarded by the seers of the Upanishads as they found a more direct inner path leading to the Divine. The Gita itself does not speak of any specific ritual but rather turning all actions into a ritual sacrifice to the highest Divine. So there is nothing like a rigid dos and donts in Sri Aurobindo’s Yoga. It is just that it is not necessary because it accomplish its aim through an inner psychological process.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Today evening while meditating on mother’s organ music on fairy dance, firstly I saw a living mountain having two big eyes and it was seeing all around with those eyes and then a number appeared again and again in that vision it is a number 349 what does it’s means sir.

The living mountain is the physical consciousness under the influence of the Psychic aspiration. 349 perhaps means the 3 lower and 4 higher planes that are embedded or involved within the physical consciousness represented by number 9. The dream implies that your physical consciousness is open to the Divine Influence.
