Purification means bringing all the parts and all the movements completely under the Divine Influence and no other. Naturally, it is a long process and requires a great amount of sincerity and perseverance. It is not about doing what is morally right or acting according to the existing social standards. It means not to act with the idea of pleasing oneself or pleasing others, but to please only the Divine.Β
To start with, one has to become conscious of one’s thoughts and feelings and motives and discern the true from the false. Then, by the progressive awakening of the psychic being, one is able to orient and turn the thoughts, feelings and will away from the satisfactions of the ego and towards the Divine. As these elements are brought more and more under the control of the Divine Will, it becomes impossible and even painful to think about oneself and act with a personal or selfish motive. It brings, as a result, great inner peace and joy and strength. Aspiration soars and one is completely free from grief and sorrow, fear and care and all other lower movements such as lust, anger, greed, vanity, jealousy, possessiveness, pride and the rest. Fear passes away completely and one is prompted to live by the Truth rather than lie and falsehood.Β
Affectionately,
Alok Da
