AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Namaste sir, please let us know a few of the ultimate mysteries of existence which we all should know to lead a beautiful life🪷.

The first great mystery is that the Divine exists and He is All Compassion and Light and Love. He is the Source of all that exists and all that is not yet in existence but shall be one day. Turning to the Divine is therefore the best way to realise our highest possibilities. It gives the true meaning and value to life and by finding Him we find all that we seek right now through limited, inadequate and imperfect means.

The Divine is not far. He is nearer to us than we can imagine. In fact He is within us, He has become us and we are, in reality, the Divine wearing the disguise of humanity. We can find Him, become one with Him and thereby reclaim our truth and make our life beautiful and happy and Divine. The Divine is everywhere and in everything, our forever friend and lover, parent and teacher, master and beloved.

Everything in this world is changing but this change has a direction and a purpose. It is meant to help us grow towards the Divine Perfection we are meant to realise and manifest. The world is not meant to satisfy our longings and wishes and desires but to help us discover the wisdom, the strength, the infinite peace and joy we always carry within us.

Keep the faith intact. Even if all collapses, faith alone can rebuild our lives.

As for our everyday life.

Replace ambition with a pursuit of excellence and doing well whatever work is at hand.

Replace desires with the thrust for progress.

Gradually replace the ego with the psychic being.

Replace the wish for success with striving towards perfection.

Take the world as a stage and yourself assigned a role in it. Play the role well but be not attached to it. Do your work as the worship of the Divine but leave the results entirely to the Divine.  Have full faith in the Divine whether the result be pleasant or painful. Trust that She will take care of all our needs and what is not given to us is not good for us.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Purification is the indispensable basis for liberation. It means removing the covering and coating of ignorance and falsehood that veils the true self. In the yoga seeking for mukti, the purification has to be less thorough. It is enough to bring some sattwic rectitude in nature, satwasanshuddhi. Transformation proper..

Can we understand Sri Aurobindo and His yoga with the physical mind, as you say physical mind never grasps the Truth in its highest sense. So if we feel good by reading Sri Aurobindo or The Mother, even that is from the physical plane, wanting a good, perfect physical life. 😅❤️‍🔥🦋 […]

Yes, it is difficult for the physical mind to shift its fixed position and comfort zones..It feels lost and insecure. But once it accepts the New Idea then it gets firmly established there. It is somewhat like…

The talk sounded like you were putting down Marriage as a concept! True, some regions do this horse ride/wasting money, which is in bad taste. However, Marriage as a concept gives the monkey minds a framework. 🥸💍💒[…]

Yes, I agree that for the average human being, these outer frameworks and social institutions do serve a purpose of holding people together. Of course, as I mentioned, marriage or not, love and togetherness can be beautiful and ought to be so. But for that, man needs to evolve beyond the present frameworks, which operate as long as one accepts the limits of dos and don’ts. …
