AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

The desire for wealth (to enjoy the luxuries of life), power and sex appear to be the driving forces in human beings. Without these desires there would be no activity. Is it not true that life cannot be imagined without these desires. Can you help me understand why then we are told to get rid of these desires that seem so natural and should be created with purpose by the creator🤔?

Life without desires is not only imaginable but also the most wonderful life one can conceive of, it is a life of peace and freedom and joy. Far from being a life of inertia, it is a life of intense, powerful action driven no more by the fossil fuel of desire and ambition, but by the clean and pure energy of the Divine Mother, the direct working of the Divine Shakti in the Adhaar that is prepared and ready than Her diminished action limited and distorted by our ego and ignorance.

But not all are ready for this direct working of the Divine hence the fuel of desire is needed to push us until we understand its limitations and are ready to go beyond it. It is a question of stage of evolution. The tamasic man is like a stone and needs strong and violent push to act, the push provided by all kinds of hungers such as food and sex. The rajasic man needs desires and ambitions to get him going. The sattwic man is moved to act under some kind of idealism even if it means sacrificing his personal ambition and desires. But the spiritual man moves by the Will of the Divine Shakti to fulfil the Divine Purpose in the world.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

I now feel that I have read enough and it is time for me to start living them. I am doing that, slowly and steadily, notably in work and in parenting. Also, with regards to my health, I am making efforts to regularly exercise, eat a good diet, etc. The Mother herself said this: “It is best to live a Divine teaching”. 😊🙏🏻🌸🌏[…]

I heard in your recent talk that for a long time of 12 years, the Sadhana moves with ups and downs, but after 12 years, the Sadhana becomes smooth and blissful. Kindly add some more words to it, dear Alok da, as it gives me a sense of Reassurance. 😊🙏🏻🪷❤️‍🔥

I believed earlier that all of the manifested Universe is a part of the Apara Prakriti. But the Mother says that nature is infra-rational? But then I wonder whether reason is an instrument of Para Prakriti? Isn’t it too imperfect? What is the joining link of Nature with the Mother? 🌌🤔❤️‍🔥🪷

Para and Apara Prakriti are simply two different modes of working of One Consciousness-Force. In its origin it is the Conscious Power of the Divine, also called as the Shakti of the Ishwara. The knowledge in the Shakti or …
