AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER

As I have shared earlier that I was in the lineage of DLS Rishikesh, but today onwards I took my final decision to follow the spiritual path of the Divine Mother and Sri Aurobindo and continuing silent chanting of the divine name “Sri Maa”. I may have disturbed a lot by asking  many more questions to you, for that I beg your pardon. But I have few more queries, please guide me 😊 (1) What should be the regular routine for a spiritual seeker?

The outer routine has to be according to the needs and demands of one’s work and life. The inner attitude is most important. It is to cultivate peace and equanimity, to hold on to faith, remember the Mother and offer all that one does to Her. This is the mainstay of the sadhana.

(2) How much time one should give for meditation, yogasana, swadhyaya and others? Please mention morning/evening seating also.

Meditation 20 to 30 minutes twice or thrice a day as per interest, preferably at a fixed time if possible. Swadhyaya as per time and interest, as much as possible. Exercise 45 minutes daily according to choice and interest.

(3) Are there any food recommendation that should be followed by a sadhaka such as veg/nonveg? If veg no onion no garlic etc.?

No except for no smoking and no alcohol. Veg is preferable but non vegetarian can be taken if the body needs it.

(4) Can you provide some link of daily meditation audio/video?

There are some available on the internet by devotees and groups connected to Sri Aurobindo. There is one that I have also provided that should be available on auromaa.org

(5) Which books of Sri Maa I should start reading and in which sequences, as I am the beginner of this path?

Sri Aurobindo on the Mother with Letters on the Mother

Letters on Yoga

Collected Works of the Mother starting with Volume 1 and 3.

Compilations such as The Sunlit Path, White Roses, The Integral Yoga.

I am a private school teacher with time restrictions but want to contribute more in this path seriously with regularity and punctuality, so please suggest me some ideal routine.

Remember and offer. Have faith and She will do everything for you. If possible make a visit to Pondicherry.

Affectionately,

Alok Da
