AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER

World As It Is

With all our gods and goddessesšŸ˜‡, why did we suffer such violence, such brutality at the hands of these savages for 1500 years? And still suffering to these day, wherever we are the minority. What’s the point of having all these gods and goddesses if they can’t protect their people? Where are they hiding? Why are they watching from a safe distance while we go extinct here?

The gods, i mean the true gods who govern the universe as cosmic managers, do not act in a partisan manner as we would like

Today I have a question regarding Indian Folk ArtšŸ–¼ļø. I have no formal education on art but right from my childhood days besides academic studies I always loved to pursue both art as well as craft. After my marriage I travelled to many places & got the opportunity to attend many workshops on various kinds of art. At a later stage in my life I got interested in Indian Folk Art tradition & at present learning Madhubani or Mithila folk art online . But I am a bit confused which one to pursue in the long run ..Indian Folk art or Fine art? As in the Indian Folk art the stories are based on Gods & Goddesses, I would like to know is it advisable to paint the pictures of old traditions or shall we move forward with fine art.Ā AllĀ  the Mother’s paintings are fine art so would love to know is there any writing of Sri Aurobindo on the Indian Folk Art? Please tell me your take on this also.

Folk art carries its own charm. But if you ask me from the personal progress point of view then fine arts is certainly better. Aesthetics

Many atheists are living happier lives than theists. At least that is what I think. Believers seek help from divine forces to live a happy life, while atheists live their lives on their own strength and do not take any help from divine powers. Why is this so? Is the concept of divine powers an illusion or are human efforts more powerful than the power of a deityšŸ¤”?

But who said that atheists are happier. None is happy upon earth except one who has mastered his ego and conquered his desires, – believing

Why do people say that money can’t buy happiness or peace? With money, we can buy branded things that bring joy. We can fulfill parents’ dreams and our own. We can afford all the material comforts we desire, and these things make us feel happy and content. If we want to visit the Ashram, we can easily go, and that gives us peace. Money gives us the freedom to travel the world, which also brings happiness and peace. So, doesn’t money actually make it easier to experience these thingsšŸ™„?

Of course if buying branded cloth, traveling around the world, fulfilling parent’s dreams and material comforts is all that one seeks then surely money may

I don’t quite understand the concept of doing vrats. Many women around me observe fasts on Mondays, Thursdays, and other specific days. These fasts are usually done with a particular intention—like, ā€œI’ll fast for 5 Mondays, please help my husband get a job.ā€ And surprisingly, after completing the 5 Mondays, their wish often comes true. This strengthens their belief that the fasting made it happen, and then they start encouraging others to do it toošŸ™„.

People say and do all kinds of things for fulfilling their wishes. When things happen the way they wanted, they believe in it more, and

Is khandava daha parva basically about the clearing of the forests in the ancient times to make a way for the cities and civilized life? Agni desires to devour all the creatures and animals and Sri Krishna and Arjuna fullfill his desire without any mercy in slaying the animals in their warrior like frenzy and they later build Indraprastha over it, Even Ramayana too describes the dreary forests in all their gory and grim details, are the epics very much entangled in those times where clearing vast swathes of forests is a necessity for civilized lifešŸ¤”?

But how else has any of the city developed? Even the place we are sitting and the cellphone on which we are typing is built

Third question, you are going to laugh at, I did! I listen to old Hindi songs when I am cooking/cleaning, old habit. But a song came on from Hathi Mere Sathi 🐘 that Rajesh Khanna sings after K N Singh, kills his elephant Ramu, Nafarat Ki Dunia Ko Chodke Pyar Ki Dunia Me Khush Raho Mere Yar. This was movie, but in real life what would happen to that elephant’s soul?

Most animals do not have a crystallized individual soul. They are generally governed by the soul of the species. That is why they rarely have

Wanted to share something with you that happened to me in the last 1 week. So I’ve been together with my father celebrating his birthday. I don’t know enough about all of his friends to make judgments, but one of the ā€œfriendsā€ living with us was a businessman who is very influential and supposedly has tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars. He is relatively young for his success — 39 years old. He has great charisma and is very knowledgeable, his intellect often shining in discussions. I always knew that he was into some shady things in terms of money-making. But I just didn’t know to what extent. It turns out, my father told me, that his entire business is actually based on ripping poor people off😔. He has ā€œcall centersā€ where scammers working for him call innocent elderly people, war veterans, students, and all kinds of other vulnerable people, and tell them that their ā€œbank account is frozen and they have to pay a certain amount of money to unblock itā€, and other similar lies — all aimed at scaring and threatening these people to make money off them. And the worst thing is that these people are often times already highly vulnerable and poor in the first place. Another business that he has revolves around microfinancing, where people are given short term loans that quickly rise in interest. Again, the whole thing is meant to scam people. . A person takes 100-200 dollars to buy something, and in many cases they do it under difficult circumstances such as having to buy medicine, or under influence of drug addiction or gambling addiction. And the interest rises every week or month to the point where the initial 100 dollars becomes 10 thousand dollars in a matter of months! And then, they take away that person’s apartment [conti]

I truly appreciate your idealism and fully endorse it. It requires a great courage to stand up for what you consider as true values even

Alok Da, You keep saying that Education should always be Free. Then, what has been the need of Guru Dakshina is not an honorarium. It is a spontaneous expression of gratitude in a student who has been trained and equipped to meet the challenge of life, whose mind and heart have been shaped by the Guru, and in? Isn’t this some form of honorarium to the teacheršŸ¤”?

Rule of ego may be over but it doesn’t appear so in the outer life today, especially in India – I just went there for month and saw it myself how the culture has turned to worship anyone with 100 Cr + and all the rest of the nonsense – how 50% of the people are living in horrible conditions and the 2.5% are controlling everything. Now one thing about these ‘big heads’ is that they all have a massive ego – ego beyond anything – they live in the vital and hold a lot of lower vital force😄.

Appearances are often misleading and as far as the average mass of mankind is concerned, especially the breed of politicians and business houses, it is

What to do in situations when you feel uncomfortable going to social functions because of people getting drunk there, etc. when it’s your close relative’s invitation😄? Socially, it would be considered rude and devious to decline attending such events. In terms of one’s career, it can even be harmful to do so because you will miss out on a lot of business opportunities, as ridiculous as it may sound. But on the other hand, I find myself really feeling uncomfortable in such events, almost suffocating. Is it okay to openly share that due to your spiritual path, you don’t want to engage in such activities, or is it better to come up with some excuse or other, such as you have some important work to do, etc? This is a situation I’m facing on a regular basis, and so far I’ve only been submitting to the pressure, to my own discomfort and dissatisfaction.

I can understand this very well having gone through it during my Air Force days. I can share my formula with you and it is
