AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Dear Alok da, is getting married, buying a house, and achieving all the materialistic milestones what society considers as “being settled”? Is that truly the case? How can we discover our own definition of being settled๐Ÿ˜?

One is never settled with these outer things because man does not live by bread alone and a home is not made by bricks alone. Human beings are programed to remain unsettled of sort until they find a meaning and purpose of their life. House, money, position etc can provide some outer comfort and a framework for physical life and vital existence. But the mind and soul seek higher and deeper things always. Of course there are a class of human beings who are human in appearance but whose deeper emotional, intellectual and spiritual life is largely asleep. They may feel satisfied with these material things for a while though even they are restless wanting more and more or saving and growing their earnings. Desires and ambitions never let a man rest even if he has outwardly everything in the world.ย

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Dear Da, I’m a single child. I always have this question: why don’t I have a sibling with whom I can share things? Also, my parents have a greater realisation of the Divine, so whenever I try something out of spirituality or try to get mixed with society, they get to know things from within and always doubt my intentions and try to keep me under their influence. ๐Ÿ˜ข๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿป๐Ÿƒ[…]

I want to know if The Mother refers to Sri Aurobindo as ‘Lord’? And so, when They say, the aim of life is to know the Divine and unite with It, do they mean to know the Lord and unite with Him? So, do we look to know Sri Aurobindo and The Mother as the Divine, and unite with Them by offering ourselves to Them integrally? I am curious how you understand this and practice this aim of Life. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿชทโค๏ธโ€๐Ÿ”ฅ
