“… It is nothing less than the descent of the supreme Truth and Power into Matter, the supramental established in the material plane, and consciousness and the material world and an integral transformation down to the very principle of Matter. Only a supreme Grace can effect this miracle.”
My question is: by “the descent of Supreme Truth into Matter”, what is meant by “Matter”?Β Why is a capital letter given for “Matter” in the text? Is it Pancha Bhothas?Β And mind, intellect, also?Β If so, will all “Jada” objects, like tables, chairs, and houses, be Divinised?Β And all plants, the animal kingdom, Divinised?Β Or does the Divinisation refer only to human life, with its body, mind?Β Bhuddi, Prana, etc., do they matter?Β
Matter is the jada tattva of which all earthly life is based upon. Its nature is obscurity, inertia, darkness. It carries its own truth within but is unable to release or deliver it except through much resistance. It has so far released life (living creatures) and mind (thinking man) out of its womb of darkness. Now it must logically deliver the Spirit, but, as in the previous stages, it is still resisting much. Its resistance in the mind is jadata that refuses to know or admit the new possibility, doubting it at every stage, jadata of life preventing our emotions, will, passions to the free unobstructed response to the spiritual consequences, preventing the body from receiving and responding to the Divine. The result is what we are today, half animal, half human, yet striving to be a god! The descent of Truth is meant to free us completely from this pash (bondage and slavery) of jadata (obscurity and inertia). It means our mind, life, body will respond freely to the Divine and manifest the Divine.Β
It is bound to have an effect on animal and plant life as well as material nature, bringing a more harmonious and peaceful co-existence with the human and the superhuman type.
Affectionately,
Alok Da
