Nature has both kinds of energies. There are those energies that help us in the Yoga, such as seeking for knowledge, thirst for love, will power. First, we should direct these energies towards the Divine and grow in us the godlike qualities described in the Gita or what you find in the Mother’s symbol. Then, by a persistent application of will and faith without getting discouraged, one should refuse to act under the impulsion of the lower tendencies. One should turn the mind’s seeking for knowledge, the heart’s seeking for love, the will striving for power towards the Divine through meditation, contemplation, bhakti and service. Finally, to all this personal effort, one should add offering one’s difficulties to the Divine Mother with the prayer to get rid of them. With perseverance and patient effort, which sometimes takes a long time, one is sure of the victory. It is not by oneβs own effort and not in a day that one can become the master of one’s nature, but by reliance and faith upon the Grace and knowing how to put the needed effort without discouragement.Β
One gets Jivan Mukti by the Grace of God. Seek the Divine Grace by developing in oneself aspiration, faith, sincerity, surrender.
Affectionately,
Alok Da
