AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I enjoy watching K-Dramas too much. Is it compatible with the Integral Yoga, as it doesn’t help in growth? ๐Ÿ˜…

Everything can be made useful if it makes us conscious. Instead of the vital taking pleasure and simply identifying with the characters and the situations, the mind can watch it with a will to learn about the different shades of life. Of course one should be careful not to start believing in everything that is shown and it should not absorb us so much as to hamper our growth and progress in other directions.

I presume it is not a horror drama or the usual melodramatic stuff, which certainly harms or warps the consciousness instilling fear, suspicion and a twisted understanding of life.

My own impression of Korean films (the few I have watched), at least, is that their portrayal of life is done with quite a refined sensitivity and a sense of inner aesthesis, which I found quite good.ย

Affectionately,

Alok Da
