AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

In the Old Yogas, Yogins have confirmed to have Self Realisation or realization of Jivatma. But according to my understanding from Sri Aurobindo’s writings, Jivatma is the Vigyanamaya Purusha whose abode is Supermind. But since non of the realizations from Old Yogas had reached the Supramental Consciousness, then how we can say that they have realized the Jivatman which is also the goal of Vedantic realizationšŸ¤”?

The origin of Jivatman is in the Supermind but a portion of it descends in the adventure of Time and Space as the psychic essence or the individual soul. It is like the Sun and its rays. The ray owes its origin in the sun. But to fulfil its destiny it travels far wandering through the universe. However far it may wander, it is always connected with the sun. The Jivatman that is realised by certain Yogis is the ray that has wandered upon the earth. It becomes the door to reach the Paramatama, that is the Sun..But before reaching the Supermind it comes across dazzling belts of Light, the Overmind, and mistakes it for the Sun itself.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

The talk sounded like you were putting down Marriage as a concept! True, some regions do this horse ride/wasting money, which is in bad taste. However, Marriage as a concept gives the monkey minds a framework. šŸ„øšŸ’šŸ’’[…]

Yes, I agree that for the average human being, these outer frameworks and social institutions do serve a purpose of holding people together. Of course, as I mentioned, marriage or not, love and togetherness can be beautiful and ought to be so. But for that, man needs to evolve beyond the present frameworks, which operate as long as one accepts the limits of dos and don’ts. …
