AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER

Last night, I had another dream in which there was a small snakešŸ outside my old house, and with me was a friend whom I have met very few times and barely know. We tried to kill that snake, but it ran towards the drain of our old house. There, we saw another small snake, and both of them went inside the stone covering the drain. When we removed the stone, we saw a very large snake that extended into the neighbor’s house through that drain. I ran back and told my friend to step back because it was very dangerous. But my friend stayed there to kill it. The snake spoke and said, “How can I leave from here? I’ve been here for so many years.” The snake was very large and lived in the drain near our old house, with its tail inside the neighbor’s house. What does this mean, Alok Da?

It means some old hostile formation is around and while they are being chased, the main force behind them is deeply entrenched in that area. But all this will go as you keep calling the Mother’s Name.

Alok Da

I am from a small village in Rajasthan. Everyone around me, including my family members, has built a temple for the ancestors (Pitras) in the middle of our settlement, and they worship there. The ancestors they worship include my grandfather’s brother. So, could this be the same force?

Quite possible that some part of his vital resides there in a disembodied state. You can try proper shraddh for him through some knowledgeable pundit or else chant the Mother’s Name in that area with prayers for the dissolution of his vital being. Hanuman Chalisa also helps.

And finally, what are these hostile formations? How are they formed? Can we call them ghosts, and do they try to control the practitioner?

Bhoot pret are elemental energies thrown out of the disembodied vital after death. They cannot do much harm. In contrat, hostile forces are typal beings who exist in their own world, generally the lower vital and the subconscient. They act upon human beings from there by throwing suggestion and forces of fear, depression, doubts etc. They are much more dangerous but also rare. Now from your story it seems actually a disembodied being rather than a hostile one.

Alok Da

In the years 2018-19-20, it often happened that a force would come over me and not let me move. Once, it even threw me out of bed while I was sleeping. After that, I started practicing yoga, and the force I mentioned from my village entered me, completely controlling my mind and body. It told me to ask my God for its liberation. Then, by divine grace, I returned to normal after 7-8 days. After that, during meditation, I started writing things, including past and future events. Sometimes, I would receive commands during meditation—out of these, 2 would be correct, and 10 would be wrong. Now, everything is going on normally. But for what reasons could such things happen to a practitioner?

These things happen if one is open in certain parts of our nature, especially the subliminal inner mind and vital to certain forces. They stop with the development of reason and also by opening to the higher consciousness.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

We recently brought a Shivling from my in-law’s place as they are not able to take proper care of it. My in-laws used to worship it with elaborate rituals. We have also been advised to follow it. To be honest, I don’t have much faith in their long rituals which were advised by our family priest. To me a simple ritual with faith & devotion is what is actually needed in worship🤨.

I understand your situation and have experienced this with other families as well. Ritual involves a,material and a spiritual aspect. The material side is to give bath (wash) the Shivalingam daily and keep it in a …

Dear Alok da I am a woman so it’s very easy to look at Divine as a lover… but how can a man relate to Divine like a lover ? Like when Sri Aurobindo writes the poem on Krishna I can relate feel Krishna in that form but what about a man? This was just silly curious question but thought to askšŸ™‚.

This is something that i struggled with for a while as to how could I see the Beloved in the Mother or bring before Her all my different parts for the needed change and transformation. Soon I realised that it …

Last night, I had a dream where I saw that my father and I were getting a tubewell installed, and at the end, when we inserted the pipe, a lot of water came out and it was sparkling. Then, Grandpa came and asked why we had the tubewell installed, saying that the water is salty. When we drank it, the taste was a bit salty, so I said at least the water would be useful. Later, I saw that my brother and I were checking the car’s headlight, but it didn’t light up. So, I said, doesn’t the light work? What’s the problem? He said it’s fine, and when I turned it on, the light was very dim. Then, we removed the mirror from the headlight and saw that it was giving off very little light. What could be the symbolic meaning of this dreamšŸ¤”?

I don’t think it has any deeper symbolic meaning. Looks more like a dip into the subconscient where the water is not tasty and the lights are dim. But it could also be…
