AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

My life has become very messed up… In 2023, I had my 12th Board Exam, but at the time of the Exam, I had spine surgery, so I couldn’t take the Exam. During surgery, my lower body became paralysed, and slowly I started recovering, but even now one of my legs is very weak, which makes it difficult for me to walk, and I lose balance easily. 😫[…]

Whenever anyone sees me on the road or in college, they stare at my leg, and I don’t like it at all. Everyone enjoys so much, but I can’t do anything. I stay very stressed, but I don’t let anyone know. In my group, I talk the most and laugh the most, but inside, I am very broken. I get suicidal thoughts very often. All day long, I think that I want God to end me… Please help, what should I do….

Rather, one should admire your strength and the ability to bounce back. Having a problem in walking is not your fault. And people who may judge you by your ability to walk or run surely are not worth being your friends. Friends are not those who make friendship based on appearances but those who relate with our deepest self. It is true that feet have a place in life but the heart and the head are much more important. One should not let the ability to feel rightly and think rightly get affected by the problem of your feet. As long as one can think rightly and feel rightly, as long as we can exercise our will in the right way we can emerge out of every situation victoriously. I understand your pain when you compare yourself with others but turn it into a strength, an opportunity to do well in your studies and work, to develop beautiful qualities so that one day people look upto you as an inspiration. Perhaps this challenge has been given to you to bring out your best self. May be you are not meant to be like other regular girls who spend their life in looking good. You are meant for much more. What is needed is to find the right key and the right door to unlock your true potential. The key is your will and faith. The door will be indicated by your natural temperament. Unlock your potentials, If your feet do not let you walk easily then spread the wings of your mind and imagination and fly. But for this you will have to stop paying too much attention and importance to the condition of your leg. When you stop taking much note of it then others will also stop noticing it. When you start giving importance to your thinking and develop other abilities then others too will start noticing them. Instead of thinking of death, think of being reborn into a new life, right here, in this very body, by undergoing an inner change. This is my advice to you. My prayers that may you discover and realise your true potential.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

In her conversations with Mona Sarkar on revolutionaries, the Mother mentioned that Subhas had quite illumined psychic after seeing his picture. Then how did he go into the asuric camp? 🤔

Which book of Mona da is it mentioned? I have not come across it. Would like to see the reference. Sri Aurobindo’s own assessment of him was that he was a passionate sentimental idealist with the streak of ambition that drove him. Of course this comment refers to his personaity and nature in this life. It is not any judgment ….
