Money should not govern one’s decisions nor be the main priority. It has its own place in life but a place too often exaggerated due to which man gets trapped in a vicious cycle of greed chasing illusory happiness which never comes with money and more often does not stay long where money becomes the Lord. The mystic poet Kabir summarised it beautifully: Sai itna dijiye jaame kutumb samaye. Main bhi bhookha na rahoon sadhu na bhookha jaye. Lord grants me enough to take care of mine and my family’s material needs, so that neither myself nor the honoured guests ever go hungry. But if more money comes one should not shun it. Instead, one should learn to use it wisely for creating beauty, increasing goodness and manifesting the truth upon earth.
Affectionately
