AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER

“She is in every blade of grass , every gust of wind, every star and sound. From moss to mountains, from silence to storms – all is Devi. She sees all. She knows all. And yet, She often remains a silent witness. Why? Because unless you invoke Her, She does not interferešŸ¤”.

She has designed karma, dharma, and samsara to guide the world. Like a CEO who doesn’t attend every meeting, Devi steps in only when called with sincerity. Even the Trimurtis had to invoke Her to defeat Mahishasura. She will not act uninvited. Yes, She knows your suffering. And She knows what you’ve caused others to suffer. But unless you surrender and ask, She waits, patient, powerful, loving.
You don’t need grand rituals. One genuine prayer, one tear, one heartfelt chant is enough. Begin with Argala Stotra, or even a simple ā€œAmbeā€. She doesn’t need perfection—just your truth.” I just read it today. Please confirm it

Yes She is everywhere and in everything but She acts in two modes of Her working, Vidya and Avidya, the higher Supernature, Paraprakriti, to which nothing is impossible and a lower inferior Nature, Prakriti, which is a limited working.

As long as man remains subject to the ignorance of lower nature, Avidya, he needs to connect with Her consciously through prayer, meditation, mantra, strota, or simply just a distress call and She responds. But Her action cannot be dictated by our wishes and fancies nor is She there simply to fulfil our blind desires. That would create chaos. When She intervenes in Her Freedom, She does so with Wisdom and Truth so that the best possible conditions are created for our safety and progress through the circumstances created by the forces of destiny. But this is not the usual case. Human consciousness and the world is not ready to bear the full pressure of Her Force. It is usually through one of Her emanations whom we know as various goddesses, each with her unique function and power. The action of these goddesses is usually limited though precise within their province. The various stotra and pujas etc are meant to propitiate these different cosmic powers.

It is only when the soul turns directly to Her in complete surrender and is ready to bear Her direct action as the nature is purified of egoism and desire that he opens to the direct working of the Transcendent Supreme Mother. Then nothing is required, not even a call or a mantra since She adopts such a being surrendered to Her with devotion and faith. Then life is a perpetual miracle and felicity and nothing is impossible for Her Grace to accomplish. She initiates, achieves, fulfils all.

Traditional Tantra is generally not aware of Her in the highest Supreme Power and worships Her in and through limited forms.

Of course there is a factor that overrides. It is faith. If one has an absolute faith then nothing is impossible.

Finally there is the incalculable factor of the Mother’s Grace. The Mother acts in infinite freedom and is not subject to any rules and regulations made by man or even the gods. She may come to a complete non-believer (many instances have been documented). And equally She may let the devotee go through the challenges if this is best for him.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

Ramakrishna says that the Jivakoti can ascend to the Divine but may not descend, while the Ishwarakoti can ascend and descend at will. Sri Aurobindo says that going by this definition ‘Ishwarakoti are those who get to the integral Reality and can therefore combine the Ascent with the Descent and contain the “two ends” of existence in their single being.🤨’ -[Conti]

By definition, it seems so. Ramakrishna often alluded in his talks that Brahman and his Shakti are One and the world is their own manifestation and play. I always understood this statement from Sri Ramakrishna (of course before contact with…
