AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

What does the Swastika mean in the context of Sri Aurobindo and Mother’s Philosophy? πŸ•‰οΈ

The Swastika is the wheel of Time in dynamic forward motion indicated by the four clockwise strokes in the circumference. At the centre is Dharma while the four lines or spokes that stabilise the forward motion are sraddha, gyana, bhakti, karma. The wheel of Time is the wheel of dharma moving towards the fulfilment of the four great aims of the human race, freedom, equality, unity and fraternity.

Of course this traditional interpretation is different. It soeaks of the four purusharthas, dharma, Artha, kama, moksha.

Affectionately,

Alok Da
