One should not allow oneself to become a martyr. Life is much greater and vaster than human love. And while love is no doubt the sweetest, happiest, in fact the most powerful mover of human life, yet it should not be blind but illumined always by knowledge in the path it must take and guided by dharma in its actions. To allow oneself to be exploited by others and even lose one’s goal and purpose, even if it be for love is not the way to fulfil love. One should express one’s feelings with the person whom one loves. If the person truly loves he / she will certainly understand.
