AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Why do I have to do difficult things? Can I not do easy things in Life😎?

And what is the joy in doing easy things? Everyone wants to do easy things. Honestly, where is the charm in that?

Personally, I don’t understand this. This is my personal take on it. When you take on the challenges of life and tackle difficult things, it doesn’t matter what. As a child, when you solved a puzzle of a thousand pieces, how day and night you worked on it, and ultimately, when you finished it, that “aha” feeling.

Life is that challenge, and we are born to do difficult things. We should be happy and proud that man has been chosen to do difficult things. To want to do easy things and lead an easy life is a life of inner misery even if one is surrounded by outer riches. Nothing worthwhile comes without effort. Such is the law of our earthly existence. To want easy life is therefore to deprive ourselves of some of the most beautiful things including happiness that many seek. The joy that cones after facing a challenge is far greater and enduring than temporary pleasures and momentary happiness.

Affectionately,

Alok Da
