AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER

I am 19 years old. I got addicted to pornography and masturbation out of boredom and loneliness especially during covid period. Now I have developed bad addiction to this and also I’m unable to overcome thoughts of those kind. I am constantly thinking of getting girls only for the sake of physical relationship with them and leaving (one night stand) And also I am disinterested towards studies and career and marriage. Yet I seek help. Please help me Alok da. What can I do😔?

Yes as you must have understood by now that masturbation, though quite common, is not a healthy habit especially when it turns into a regular affair. It draws certain elemental energies that tend to make one weak and sick. Pornography is of course extremely dangerous as it draws the person in a net of dark forces of falsehood. It almost robs us of a normal healthy emotional relationship with women.

As you have noted these forces rise up especially during loneliness and boredom, a state of tamas wherein one seeks crude pleasures to feel alive. Now that you have become conscious you should surely try your best to get rid of it. The following few suggestions should help provided you don’t let feelings of guilt and depression pervade you.

The first thing is to look at the sexual movement as a force of Nature instead of something evil or bad. In ordinary life one has to regulate and channelise rather than repress and fight violently against it.

Stay as busy as you can. Read, work, play, help others, do social service, prepare for exams but keep yourself occupied whole day.

Especially engage in lot of physical workout to tire you enough by night.

Listen to some light music in the background. Learn some musical instruments yourself.

Be careful of the company you keep.

Go to some nice spiritually charged place or a beautiful place every weekend.

Don’t think much about sex. If the thought comes, turn the mind away.

Read spiritually uplifting books and pray to the Mother to help you get rid of this dangerous habit.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

My niece who is 12 yrs old doesn’t like sharing😥. If she takes her favorite food to school and her friends ask her to share, she doesn’t give or gives a very small piece. If by chance she happens to share a chocolate with girls she doesn’t like, she wants to snatch it away. She is attached to Krishna, and only thing that pacifies her is when we tell her that Krishna likes if she shares what He has given her. She says “I know it’s bad, i know it’s a devil that says this, but I can’t overpower it. It tells me that those girls did bad and said bad things about you, instead of that you shared your things, now you go steal something from them. Or I keep thinking what will I get if I give them”..[conti]
