AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

Why did God choose the designs He did? Like I understand the beauty and I’m in awe of uplifting it to His majesty… but why is a rose red? Why does the atom look the way it does? Why is the Sun round? Or, is it that these are just what are limited senses are yet able to perceive and there are more shapes, colours, and designs our senses are not yet tuned to🀨?

The forms and colours in the world have been conceived through the eye of an Artist and given shape and figure through the hands of a Scientist. The Divine Mother is that Artist and Scientist who has thus erected this many tiered mansion, a many layered multiverse for the dwelling of Her Lord and Her children (creatures).Β

But coming to the Science of it, the Upanishads say that the world is a joint creation of the creatrix consciousness and the senses it (nature) has developed and is still developing under an evolutionary pressure or creative impulsion she feels within. What we experience and know is not even a fragment of the wonder that the world is. There are many more vibrant colours and subtler fragrances and radiant forms of beauty to which our eyes are sealed right now just as our animal ancestors do not have the privilege of colours.

The mathematics of the world is mind boggling as we are discovering now, as the Vedic seers discovered too. It is because a secret power of harmony and order breathes in this universe. It doesn’t need to plan and calculate but acts by a spontaneous knowledge. Sri Aurobindo reveals in Savitri at several places.

‘This world was not built with random bricks of Chance,

A blind god is not destiny’s architect;
A conscious power has drawn the plan of life,
There is a meaning in each curve and line.

It is an architecture high and grand
By many named and nameless masons built
In which unseeing hands obey the Unseen,
And of its master-builders she is on.’

The other part is that the world mirrors the Divine and hence we see the same pattern. The galaxies, solar system, atoms all have a centre that is at once material as well as spiritual. It is the nodal point for the Divine to act. All that is around is the dance of nature around her secret lover and beloved.

Another part of me thinks, why does my human mind limit God’s design to portray a narrow infinity ? Me wondering why God didn’t design the Sun to change colour every day, seems a narrow perception of how I think God should create.

In fact the Sun does change colour during the day. Its counterparts in other worlds are indeed of different colours such as purple, green, almost every possible colours. Infinity is not limited by form or formlessness. It is our perception that is limited.

I wonder if actually the atom we see, and the colours we perceive are mere glimpses of an even deeper, vaster Infinity that we wrongly assume as a finite array with division’s ignorance?

Absolutely.

Maybe I make no sense…or is senselessness the way to Truth ?

You are making complete sense to those who are considered senseless by so-called ‘sensible’ people.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

I am drawn to the Mother’s Teachings, and for the past couple of years spent quite some time reading and taking notes on a variety of subjects. I now feel that I have read enough and it is time for me to start living them. I am doing that, slowly and steadily, notably in work and in parenting. Also, with regards to my health, I am making efforts to regularly exercise, eat a good diet, etc. The Mother herself said this: “It is best to live a Divine teaching”. πŸ˜ŠπŸ™πŸ»πŸŒΈπŸŒ[…]

I heard in your recent talk that for a long time of 12 years, the Sadhana moves with ups and downs, but after 12 years, the Sadhana becomes smooth and blissful. Kindly add some more words to it, dear Alok da, as it gives me a sense of Reassurance. πŸ˜ŠπŸ™πŸ»πŸͺ·β€οΈβ€πŸ”₯

I said that it is mentioned in spiritual literature that it takes almost 12 years for the basic purification to take place before one is ready to take off properly. It may take long or short depending upon the sincerity. Also one may …

I believed earlier that all of the manifested Universe is a part of the Apara Prakriti. But the Mother says that nature is infra-rational? But then I wonder whether reason is an instrument of Para Prakriti? Isn’t it too imperfect? What is the joining link of Nature with the Mother? πŸŒŒπŸ€”β€οΈβ€πŸ”₯πŸͺ·

Para and Apara Prakriti are simply two different modes of working of One Consciousness-Force. In its origin it is the Conscious Power of the Divine, also called as the Shakti of the Ishwara. The knowledge in the Shakti or …
