AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

This question is from one of Mother’s Prayers: A teaching can be profitable only if it is perfectly sincere, that is, if it is lived while it is being given, and words often repeated, thoughts expressed frequently can no longer be sincere…Why should oft repeated words or thoughts become insincere? Is Mother saying that by doing it we become attached to the outer shell than to the inner Truth🤔?

Words are vehicles meant to carry certain vibrations through the medium of speech. The vibrations are contributed by the spontaneous movements of the inner being. In the case of a spiritual teaching it is the vibrations of the state of consciousness realised by the Master who gives a teaching. The higher he has risen, the vaster his consciousness the more his speech carries the ring of Truth in whatever he writes or speaks. But the same words caught by minds that are small, narrow, impure do not carry that consciousness or vibrations. When spoken too often as a standard formula they become mechanical and lose their value. Even prayers that are parroted without the heart feeling the truth contained in it is an insincerity. That is why to speak about spiritual truths, the consciousness should be vast and supple and open to the intuitive planes through which inspiration is received. This inspiration naturally takes different form of words depending upon what the Divine or the Higher Consciousness wants to communicate as the same thing can be conveyed in several different ways. But the uninspired mind turns them into fixed formulas, speaking them as if they were set in stone rather than flowing from an infinite ocean of light and love. The former leaves one cold and is dry as dust. The latter fills one with a spiritual influence, awakens aspiration and inspires.

Affectionately,

Alok Da

I am drawn to the Mother’s Teachings, and for the past couple of years spent quite some time reading and taking notes on a variety of subjects. I now feel that I have read enough and it is time for me to start living them. I am doing that, slowly and steadily, notably in work and in parenting. Also, with regards to my health, I am making efforts to regularly exercise, eat a good diet, etc. The Mother herself said this: “It is best to live a Divine teaching”. 😊🙏🏻🌸🌏[…]

I heard in your recent talk that for a long time of 12 years, the Sadhana moves with ups and downs, but after 12 years, the Sadhana becomes smooth and blissful. Kindly add some more words to it, dear Alok da, as it gives me a sense of Reassurance. 😊🙏🏻🪷❤️‍🔥

I believed earlier that all of the manifested Universe is a part of the Apara Prakriti. But the Mother says that nature is infra-rational? But then I wonder whether reason is an instrument of Para Prakriti? Isn’t it too imperfect? What is the joining link of Nature with the Mother? 🌌🤔❤️‍🔥🪷

Para and Apara Prakriti are simply two different modes of working of One Consciousness-Force. In its origin it is the Conscious Power of the Divine, also called as the Shakti of the Ishwara. The knowledge in the Shakti or …
