In the 1920s, Edwin Hubble discovered that Galaxies are moving away from us, and the farther they are, the faster they move. This means the universe is expanding. If it’s expanding, we can “rewind the clock” and see that all matter must have been closer together in the past, leading to the Big Bang. So by measuring the rate of expansion, scientists can calculate how long the universe has been expanding. Does that make sense? 👨🏼‍🔬🛰️🌌🪐
