AT THE FEET OF THE MOTHER
Ask Alok da

I see many devotees wearing golden jewellery of mother’s symbols. Is there any truth in wearing golden ornaments in general, as opposed to silver ones or of any other material? Does gold really possess some characteristics of consciousness that make it beneficial from the spiritual standpoint, or is it merely an adornment🤔?

The metal we use should best reflect the purpose for which it is being used. Gold, as a metal is not only precious but a standard of purity. It can endure wear and tear for long. Hence the wish to have Her symbol in gold. But apart from that there is no other reason. Silver gets spoilt with time. Perhaps that is the reason why it is avoided.

Affectionately,

Alok Da
